The Raffles Museum is hosting the "All Catfish Species Inventory Asian Workshop"

Date: March 30 to April 2, 2004
Place: Raffles Museum of Biodiversity Research, National University of Singapore

The All Catfish Species Inventory (ACSI) is supported by the U.S. National Science Foundation. This workshop on the Asian
Catfish Taxonomic Research will be hosted by Dr. Peter Ng, Mr Kelvin Lim, and the staff of the Zoological Reference
Collection of the Raffles Museum.

The goals of the workshop are to introduce participants to the objectives and support mechanisms of ASCI and to
encourage and facilitate cooperation among participants.

The IAB's Richard Spruce Award

Jan 26, 2004 - RMBR is proud to announce that Professor Benito Tan was chosen this year by the professional organization, the International Association of Bryologists (IAB), as the recipient of the prestigious "Richard Spruce Award". This award is given to an outstanding bryologist in research (specialist who studies bryophyte plants).

The good news was made public at the just concluded XV World Congress on Bryology held in Merida of Venezuela from Jan 12 to 18. Professor Tan is the fourth recipient of this award, but the first from Asia.
