The Raffles Museum of Biodiversity Research offers a range of educational workshops and other programmes for teachers and students in the area of natural history and ecology.

These activities seeks to arouse curiosity and educate students to the rich natural history and heritage in Singapore;   facilitate a better appreciation and understanding of conservation in Singapore; foster experiential-learning and creative thinking in students; and provide students with opportunities to carry out research projects and interact with scientists.

What we offer?

  Museum Workshops
  Museum Workshops Get your hands on our museum specimens! These three-hour workshops allow you to take part in hands-on practical sessions on birds, fishes, insects, seeds and more! You will be given a guided tour of the public gallery of Raffles Museum too!

  Field Study Workshops Learn about the diversity, ecology and dynamics of a ecosystem with our half to one day field study workshops. Worksheets and notes will be provided to help students in their thinking and understanding of the ecosystem processes. Workshops for teachers can be arranged.

  Nature Walks Explore Singapore's nature spots with our experienced guides, and learn about our fragile ecosystem. Sign up for our two- to four-hour guided walks at Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, Pulau Ubin, Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserves and more! Special trips like birdwatching can also be arranged.

  Free Semakau Intertidal Walks for Secondary Schools
  Semakau Walks Thanks to the generous sponsorships of HSBC under Project Semakau, students can now go for a free guided intertidal walk at Pulau Semakau to explore the richness of the seagrass meadow and coral reef! You can see starfishes, sea cucumbers, corals, octopuses, seahorses and more!

  Field Studies Camp Eager to learn more about the biodiversity in the various tropical ecosystems in Singapore? Join our three- to five-day local field study camps, and you will get to explore Singapore's various wild places and attend interesting hands-on practicals and enriching lectures.

  Overseas Field Studies Camp Experience the rich biodiversity and culture of our neighbouring countries with our three- to five-day overseas field study camps. Places include Bako National Park, Lambir Hills National Park, Bario, Ulu Gombak Forest Reserve, Taman Negara, Pulau Tioman and Sedili.

  Nature Explorers' Programme This is a collaboration between the Raffles Museum of Biodiversity Research and West Zone of Excellence for Science and Technology at River Valley High School. It seeks to cultivate the interest for science and nature in pupils, and also, develop scientific and creative thinking.
