The phyllodocids are slender errant worms often brilliant green, yellow or red. Most of them live in crevices and under stones. Being active predators, they may be carnivores. The phyllodocids are common shallow-water polychaetes commonly associated with hard substrates and corals than mud and sand. They often produce copious mucus when disturbed or to protect themselves during salinity changes. During reproduction they swarm at the surface and green gelatinous egg masses are laid. Species of polychaetes found in Singapore include:
  • Anaitides madeirensis
  • Eteone siphodonta
  • Eulalia magelhaensis
