All onuphids are tubicolous but are capable of moving during periods of stress (limited food resources, dissolved oxygen depletion or salinity changes) and constructing new tubes or taking their tubes with them. Tubes are thin and parchment-like constructed of mucus and mud with bits of shell, rock or plant debris stuck to the outside.They are omnivorous scavengers.
