Euphrosinidae

The euphrosinids are typically epibenthic, found among coral, rocks, sponges and on sandy or shelly bottoms. They occur intertidally to over 600m in depth. They coil up when irritated as defense against predation, exposing every notosetae to every angle of attack. They are carnivorous, feed by mainly scraping sponges off rocks and feed on bryzoans and corals. Deep water species feed exclusively on foraminiferans. Their bodies are covered with an entire row of setae.
