A guiding opportunity for novices

Category : toddycats

A Raffles Museum Toddycats project: Sungei Buloh Anniversary Walk.

Learn to be a mangrove guide in 8 hours, as part of team!
Clueless about mangroves? No background in natural history? Still, you can contribute to nature, just try your hand at Station Guiding!

Learn all of just four points to guide at one station. With some research, props, humor, a dynamic team and just 8 hours of training, you will be ready to communicate the treasures of the mangroves at Sungei Buloh Wetlands Reserve to the public as a Station Guide.

This event has been conducted since 1997 in conjunction with the anniversary of the reserve. See the Sungei Buloh Anniversary Walk webpage.

Training and guiding dates

  1. Sun 20 Nov: 2pm - 5pm (content training)
  2. Sun 27 Nov: 9am - 12pm (review & guiding techniques)
  3. Wed 30 Nov: 7pm - 9pm (other preparations)
  4. Sun 04 Dec: 10am - 2pm (event)

Signing up

If you are interested, and can make it for all four sessions, email bulohguide@sivasothi.com with;

  1. Full Name
  2. Handphone number
  3. Email address
  4. Any background in mangroves, biology or guiding?

You will receive confirmation upon registration.
