RMBR staff invited to Editorial Boards

Category : research

Rudolf Meier has been accepted into the the editorial board of Systematic Entomology, following the invitation by the editor, Peter S. Cranston of University of California at Davis. Crasnton and Frank Krell, the new editors, are increasing the geographic distribution of the editorial panel to achieve a truly global coverage.

Rudolf was identified from his knowledge of the Diptera, his publications and interest in modern techniques and in non-traditional life history stages, and to encourage manuscript submissions from Southeast Asia to the journal.

Systematic Entomology is published by the Royal Entomological Society of London

Navjot Sodhi has been invited to serve on the Editorial Board of Ecological Research, the official English Journal issued by Ecological Society of Japan. Six issues are published each year and the journal will be published by Springer-Verlag from 2005.

Yoh Iwasa of Kyushu University in assuming the position of Editor-in-Chief of Ecological Research, has decided to expand the editorial board by recruiting half the members from outside of Japan. Navjot Sodhi was invited to cover papers on bird ecology and has graciously accepted the invitation.

Benito Tan was been newly added to the expanded editorial board of the Acta Phytotaxonomica Geobotanica, the official English journal publication of the Japanese Society of Plant Taxonomists in April 2004. This journal is also an internationally recognized, refereed journal.

The other foreign (non-Japanese) plant taxonomists now on the editorial board includes Dr. David Boufford of Harvard University (USA), Prof. Madjit Hakki of Freie University (Berlin, Germany), Prof. Hong Deyuan of Chinese Academy of Science (Beijing, China), and Dr. Pak Jae-Hong of Kyungpook University (Daegu, S Korea).
