Yishun art students to illustrate Ridge plants

Category : education

Art students Wu Xian, Amy Chong, Jasmine Loke and Ng Ee Zhen from Yishun Junior College, accompanied by their art teacher, Ms Lee Chuen Ping, visited the Raffles Museum on 30th September 2004, to get acquainted with the plants of Kent Ridge.

This project hopes to improve the plant drawings in the handouts provided to the public during the Kent Ridge/Pasir Panjang Heritage Trail.

They were introduced to botanical drawings in the literature and went on a short field trip to examine the morphology of some of the common plants of Kent Ridge.

Their teacher, Ping, cycles to work on a foldable bike and is a Raffles Museum volunteer guide on the Pedal Ubin programme.
