Since its establishment in 1998, Raffles Museum of Biodiversity Research (RMBR) has been housing animal and plant specimens. Besides storing these collections, biodiversity research is also carried out. RMBR researchers have carried out, and are currently engaged in, numerous surveys, expeditions and collaborative work on biodiversity and ecology in the Asia-Pacific region. Ongoing appraisal of specimens and resources from various locations is also a practice here. For more information on us please visit our website at http://rmbr.nus.edu.sg/
Due to the growth of the resource collections, there has been some difficulty in the retrieval. Formally, these resources have not been organised or recorded in any order and there are no means of tracking them. As these resources are being used extensively by students and researches worldwide, there is a need to make them more accessible. Before, users or staff will need to come down personally to the museum, browse through the shelves and check if the resources are available for use.
Now, these resources have been organised and cited according to the subjects. Users can now refer to this web bibliography from anywhere and at any time to check on our resource collections. In the museum, there is also a resource log book to track the transactions and a reservation list for users to list the resources that they need.
