Abstract: Knowledge about function and structure of
tropical Marine ecosystems is relatively limited. During the
last 5 years, a Thai Danish co-operation programme have been
conducted in the Andaman Sea off Phuket. The major part of
the field work have been conducted along transect from the
coast, across the shelf to the deep off shore waters. The
present talk will give an update on pelagic ecology and
biological ecology with special emphasis on the ecology and
function of the Andaman Sea.
