About the Speaker

Dr Chua, a dentist by profession is also an avid nature photographer. He has
spent many years refining this skill and as a result, is one of the best
nature photographers in Singapore. He has published several acclaimed
books on our natural heritage, including a recent one on Pulau Ubin.

He was featured in the recent CNA coverage of Chek Jawa, Pulau Ubin.
In view of the upcoming reclamation works, Dr Chua has conducted many talks to
highlight the conservation issues and difficulties of a land-scarce nation. During the talk,
Dr Chua will bring you through a short pictoral history of Pulau Ubin
before showing his magnificent slides on the flora and fauna of Chek Jawa.
